Stevens Point WI 1st Place Boys Championship 5K Race - Roy Griak Cross Country Invitational 2023

Stevens Point High in Wisconsin won the team title in the inaugural boys 5-kilometer championship race with 156 points at the 37th Roy Griak Invitational at the Les Bolstad Golf Course in Falcon Heights, Minn. Senior Aloysius Franzen finished fourth in 15:34.6 for Stevens Point, which had five scorers in the top 65. Ethan Olds, a junior, took 24th in 16:27.3, sophomore Erickson was 29th in 16:32.5, with juniors Andrew Dziak (16:52.5) and Graham Ballard (16:54.6) securing 60th and 65th, respectively. Senior Bode Erickson achieved 82nd in 17:04.6, junior Matt Frank grabbed 144th in 17:36.1, senior Cooper Gunderson captured 166th in 17:48.3 and sophomore Donald Voetberg placed 191st in 17:59.3 for the Panthers, who became the first Wisconsin boys team to take top honors at Roy Griak since Madison West prevailed in the gold race in 2010.
