Big Start to 2017 for NCAA Indoor Mile ChampionBy Scott Bush, DyeStat Editor Oklahoma State senior and reigning NCAA indoor mile champion Kaela Edwards broke the NCAA indoor 1,000-meter record Friday at the Holiday Inn Invitational hosted at the University of Nebraska. Edwards ran alone from the start, pacing herself to a victory in 2:40.79, breaking the record of 2:40.82 set by Angel Piccirillo of Villanova in February 2016, while besting her next closest competitor by just over seven seconds.
